You agree not to post any copyrighted material unless the copyright is owned by you or by this bulletin board.

Help these boards stay friendly and civilized by reading and following our rules of engagement:

The Golden Rule
A good rule to go by, is to never say something in the message boards that you wouldn't say in front of a group of people, or face-to-face.

The Basics
Do not violate OPSEC. Let's keep our guys safe. (see below for OPSEC guidelines)

Loose lips sink ships.Have fun and make friends!

Disruption
You're welcome to voice your opinion here, and it would be a boring place if you didn't. But if you disagree with a comment that's been made, keep it civil. Posts designed to instigate or disrupt discussions or that contain offensive material may be removed, along with other messages posted in response. Please don't use obscene or offensive language, hate speech or engage in personal attacks of other members. Posts made with the intent to belittle, harass or otherwise disrupt another member will be removed. Repeated instances of such harassment and disruption may result in a administrative action. see below....

Mild vulgarity
We don't really mind mild profanity. We've been known to let one fly, ourselves. However, if it becomes excessive or you direct it at another person, that's no good.

Post removal and reporting
We don't pre-screen or regularly review message board posts. If you feel a post, conversation or user requires our attention, let us know by PMing an Administrator or Moderator. We reserve the right to remove, without notification, content that doesn't comply with our guidelines. Continued violation of these guidelines may result in a loss of posting privileges on our message boards.

Private Messages
Important word here is private. Private means not for public consumption and it's just common courtesy not to post the contents of private messages on the public boards.

Q&A
What happened to my post? There are a few things that may have happened:
1) You've misplaced it. You can search for a previously posted message by keyword or by user name.
2) It's been moved. Threads which are posted in the wrong message board may be moved to the proper place.
3) Posts that violate these Guidelines are subject to removal, along with any messages that may have been posted in response.

We encourage you to read the full Guidelines before posting in the message boards. If you believe your post may have been removed and wish to discuss the reason for its removal, you may PM Admin.

How should I deal with disruptive behavior in the message boards?
A few suggestions:
1) Ignore disruptive posts -- if you reply, you're only encouraging unruly discussion. You also have the option of adding users to your own Ignore list.
2) Report violations of the Terms of Service and/or the Guidelines below by contacting the Admin.

Do message boards expire?
There will be times when a conversation becomes closed. There are also times when a message board will be retired. Retirement may occur because there has been little to no conversation in the board or the topic is no longer relevant to the community.

Army Angels was created to give a forum to those of us who might not otherwise have a way to express our feelings and thoughts. Please, be considerate of others thoughts, beliefs and feelings. Remember, we are all different and that is what makes us WONDERFUL! Disagree with what's posted? No problem. Discourse is the spice of life. However, bashing another poster for her beliefs and or opinions is not permitted. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact an administrator via PM for guidance.

Anyone caught being decietful, cruel, or bringing unnecessary drama will be subject to administrative action...

Which is:
1st offense, a private PM will be sent and warning will be issued.
2nd offence, a warning will be issued, a private email will be send and 7 day suspension will be instituted.
3rd offense, Membership will be cancelled, with or without notification.

If you have any complaints or questions, please contact Admin thru a PM and it will be handled as quickly and fairly as possible.

THESE RULES ARE SUBJECT TO CHANGE AND WE WILL TRY OUR HARDEST TO INFORM EVERYONE IF THEY DO!
ENJOY AND HAVE FUN LADIES!!!!!!!!!

PLEASE NOTE: I can take up to 24 hours to be accepted as a member...So Please be patient.

*OPSEC GUIDELINES*
OPSEC, also known as Operational Security, is the principle that we, as Army wives and Army family members, should all abide by when talking about our soldiers. If you’ve been on any military related message board on the internet, you have more than likely seen a warning to be sure to practice OPSEC. This means protecting the information you know about your soldier and his or her unit.

Generally, it means that you should not give out the following:
(1) Your soldier’s exact location overseas.
(2) Any information on troop movements – this includes any movement while they are deployed and in transit to/from theater (including R&R). Do not ever give dates or times.
(3) Any information on weapons systems, how they train or numbers – for this reason, many pictures from overseas can easily violate OPSEC.

If your soldier is in a special operations unit, the OPSEC guidelines can be stricter. You may not be able to say he or she is deployed at all, much less where. His unit and/or FRG should provide the OPSEC guidelines for these situations.

The internet is a wonderful tool, but in regards to our military, it is a very dangerous one as well. It takes only minutes of searching online to find enough pieces of information that could potentially endanger our soldiers.

Finally, for your own personal safety, be very aware of what you are putting on the internet or saying in conversations in public. With the internet, it is not difficult to track down an address and phone number. Do not make yourself a target by letting the world know that your loved one is deployed.

PERSEC
PERSEC is also known as personal security. Like OPSEC, this involves guarding the information that you know. Do not give out your soldier’s name along with rank. This includes blacking out his or her name tape and rank in pictures. If he or she is in a special operations unit, you should also black out any unit affiliation.
The old saying "loose lips sink ships" still holds true today. Keep your soldier, your family and his or her unit safe by keeping the information you know to yourself. You never know who is lurking and gathering information on message boards, myspace pages, and profiles. Better safe than sorry!
